Easy Blackberry Compote



3 cups fresh blackberries

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice

6 tablespoon coconut sugar

2 tablespoon water


In a small saucepan, combine all ingredients and stir to combine.

Reduce heat to a simmer and leave uncovered.

Let simmer for 10 to 12 minutes or until berries have reduced and have thickened slightly (the sauce will thicken more as it cools).

Let cool slightly and then either serve warm or refrigerate for later. Enjoy!
