Classic Old-Style Baked Beans

This recipe is easy and quick as well as still tasting home made!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1/2 cup red onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves minced
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon or more cayenne (optional)
One 15 Oz. can tomato puree
3 tablespoons brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses
Two 15 Oz. cans of white beans, drained and rinsed
Salt and pepper to taste
Parsley for garnish

Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350.
In a saucepan on medium heat, warm oil, fry onion and garlic until both are translucent.
Add in chili powder and cayenne (optional) and cook for a few minutes.
Add the tomato puree, brown sugar, molasses and bring to a low boil.
Once boiling, add salt and pepper to taste.
Let simmer for about 10 minutes, then add the beans and simmer for 10 minutes more.
Pour into a casserole dish and bake for 15 minutes.
Let stand 5 minutes before serving and garnish with parsley.
Allow it to cool for further thickening of beans that are tender and desired consistency.
