Homemade Bagels


1 cup all purpose flour, or Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free 1 to 1 flour

2 teaspoons baking powder, make sure it's fresh

3/4 teaspoon sea salt, use less if using table salt

1 cup non-fat Greek yogurt

1 egg, beaten

optional toppings: sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, poppy seeds, powdered garlic, and/or dried onion flakes


Preheat oven to 375.

Put parchment paper on a baking sheet and spray with olive oil to avoid sticking.

Combine flour, baking powder, salt and whisk to mix.

Add yogurt and stir with a fork until well combined, it will be small crumbles.

Dust flour on a work surface and remove dough from bowl, knead dough a few times until dough is tacky, but not sticky, about 15 turns (it should not leave dough on your hands).

Divide into 4 balls and poke a hole in the center then stretch it slightly.

Brush tops with egg wash and sprinkle both sides with seasonings.

Bake on the top rack in the oven for 25 minutes.

Cool 15 minutes before cutting.
